The ‘Camel King,’ Muhsin Yesilada, delivers laughter all the way from the UK to Riyadh

RIYADH: When the opportunity presented itself, Arab comedian Muhsin Yesilada, who goes by the “Camel King,” bought a ticket to Riyadh to join Maher Matta, Adam Bloom, and Rehman Akhtar for a stand-up comedy performance at Riyadh Laughs.

Riyadh Laughs is organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City at the Boulevard Riyadh City. Lasting until Nov. 11, the series of stand-up comedy shows takes place weekly, on Thursday and Friday nights.

Writers, poets praise Saudi commission’s ‘inspiring’ retreats

MAKKAH: Poets and writers in Saudi Arabia have praised a series of retreats hosted by the Ministry of Culture’s Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission.

Since 2019, the commission has hosted the retreats for local and international poets and writers, with the latest events being held in Al-Jouf, AlUla and Baha.

The retreats include panel discussions and tours in selected areas, along with periods dedicated to working and writing.

King Salman Armed Forces Hospital successfully trials electronic medicine dispenser

RIYADH: The King Salman Armed Forces Hospital in Tabuk has successfully trialed the first device to dispense medicines electronically without the need to visit the hospital, Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The device consists of a workstation that reads the barcode of a prescription, a screen that the patient deals with, an operating system for the robot, and a message platform that notifies the patient when the medicine is ready.

BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training honors latest aircraft mechanic graduates

RIYADH: The latest batch of students to qualify from BAE Systems Saudi Development and Training as flight line mechanics were honored during a graduation ceremony in Riyadh on Monday.
Mutlaq Al-Buqami, the company’s director of training, presented the students with their qualifications and praised them for their diligence, commitment and dedication to excellence in their field.

Saudi Royal Court advisor conveys message from King Salman to PM of Madagascar

RIYADH: King Salman sent a message to the prime minister of Madagascar regarding relations between the Kingdom and the African country, Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The message for Christian Ntsay was conveyed by Royal Court advisor Ahmed Qattan during a reception in the Malagasy capital Antananarivo.

During the reception, the two reviewed relations between the two countries and discussed ways of enhancing and developing them.
